Please join us as participants, celebrating their 37th season this year, will be sharing about one of the oldest, continuous gatherings in our community, as well as about the ways in which they contribute to the community.

About Santa Cruz Gay Beach Volleyball

Since 1979, Gay Beach Volleyball has been fabulizing the Main Beach. Play is more social than competitive. Our primary purpose is to create an inviting, accepting, fun and playful environment where we can socialize and be active on the beautiful beach.

We are as active in the community as we are on the beach, providing visibility, volunteers, and financial support to The Diversity Center, Pride Committee, Santa Cruz AIDS Project, Surf City AIDS Ride, and the Queer Youth Leadership Awards.

Please join us for volleyball at the Main Beach in Santa Cruz on Wednesdays during Daylight Saving Time. We start at 5:30 pm or so. Look for us in the vicinity of Court #13. Often we’ll have Rainbow Flags flying, but you really can’t miss us: We’re the guys who are having the most fun! Dinner follows once it’s too dark or too cold or we’re too hungry! The 1st hour of the PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of the LGBTIQ Community) meeting is dedicated to discussion groups followed by a brief break.  During the second hour we will hear from our guest speakers, members of Gay Beach Volleyball.
